The 10 minute soundtrack starts at Wareham Station from where we travel by horse and cart to the town centre, The Cross, and its market. We enter a typical Dorset pub and then visit the local fair in St John's Hill. We end up at the busy Quay where boats are being loaded and unloaded.
The sounds have been created using modern computer techniques and recordings of local Dorset people, together with sound effects from the past.
The project took some months to complete and resulted from a young museum visitor asking the Curator: "What did Wareham sound like 100 years ago?"
We hope you enjoy this unique experience of Wareham from all those years ago.
